Publisher's description of Xolox 2
From XoloX:Netherlands-based Xolox is back with its first new release in almost a year, with no adware, spyware, bundles, Trojan horses, or advertising. New features include multinetwork operability with all the major file-sharing networks. Now Xolox users can connect with millions of Kazaa, iMesh, Morpheus, eDonkey, Overnet, Grokster, LimeWire, Gnutella, and G2 users with only one P2P application. Search for, find, and share every type of digital-media file available, including music, films, videos, games, photos, documents, and software. New privacy features include integrated access to public proxy networks and options for preventing others from snooping on you. Xolox automatically scans downloaded files for viruses using your antivirus software. It also enables multiple simultaneous searches with lightning-fast results, and returns fast multisource downloads. A parent-controlled filter is included for family use.
Note: The Download Now link will download a small installer file to your desktop. Remain online and double-click the installer to proceed with the actual download (4.3MB).

"No spyware found, Morpheus clone found"
Pros: Morpheus clone, v1.56 or whatever it was, was MUCH, MUCH better and they have messed XoloX up by doing this
Cons: Outdated

"Well,it WAS OK--try SHAREAZA"
Pros: XOLOX was my third try at finding a decent P2P network, after ths disasters of Kazaa and Kazaa lite. At that time it seemed Ok, until I became a little more sophisticated in anti-spyware. BUT, I did get a lot of results and downloads were fast enough. So I think the programme itself is OK--If you want to tolerate its flaws.
Cons: Unfortunately MOST so-called Freeware has some kind of nasty. Often a fairly harmless browser, but sometimes a really nasty, keylogger or Trojan, --like Glory Player, which I tried yesterday,(Sept 22 2005)which is riddled with nasties.I do not object to some nagware etc-so long as I know. If ANYTHING is installed without my permission, I removce the programme immediately.
SHAREAZA is the best P2P I have found. No nasties of any kind I have been able to find. It IS a resource hog.--But,, bloody good application, whith MILLIONS of users. Gnutella and Donkey links--but avoid Donkey.
