This nifty application helps you quickly access your favorite programs and folders, but it can't create links to your documents. Xbar adds a sleek, skinnable shortcut toolbar to your desktop that comes preloaded with some program and folder shortcuts. A quick drag-and-drop or right-click lets you easily add more shortcuts. You'll also find options to edit and remove links, adjust the toolbar's transparency, set scrolling speed, and enable stay-on-top functionality.
The toolbar shows the shortcut icons and titles, and you can position it on any side of the screen. Quickly browse shortcuts by placing your mouse over the left or right side of the toolbar. Xbar did well in letting us quickly get to certain areas on our system, such as the My Documents folder and personal folders. It even launched our browser and media player.
It's a shame that it doesn't let you add links to your files or documents. But anyone looking for a simple, easy-to-use launcher may find this title worthwhile.
