Instead of check your desired domain name from web-based search engine like (networksolutions.com, register.com.) or need a linux machine, Wwhois is a convinient command program for windows users.

"Clear, clean, and friendly"

Pros: It's command line. So, it's quick and ready to use anywhere you are.

Cons: The whois servers list is closed. It would be nice if I could add new servers as soon as they appear.

"Perfect. Should be in the Windows distro."

Pros: It works, does what it's supposed to.

Cons: Didn't find any.

Summary: Does what you expect when you go to the Windows cmd box and type "whois". If you never do that, then you don't need this. If you do type that and always get surprised when nothing happens.... you want this. Thanks to the kind folks who put it her... read more >>
