Windows Password Key can recover your Windows passwords when all else fails. It burns a password key on a CD that can reset administrator and user passwords in Windows XP to 8.1, including most Server editions. It accepts FAT, FAT32, NTFS, and NTFS5 file systems and SATA, IDE, SCSI, and SAS drives.
Affordable: Compared to the time and expense of professional service or the aggravation of trying to reset passwords yourself, Windows Password Key might be the least painful alternative.
Easy to use: A well-illustrated Help file makes Windows Password Key easy to understand and use.
No USB: The Standard version of Windows Password Key only creates password recovery CDs, which is a problem if a PC or laptop lacks an optical drive. To create a password recovery USB Flash drive, you must upgrade to Windows Password Key Professional.
BIOS changes: You may need to make changes to your PC's BIOS to boot from a password recovery disk, which is another level of complexity entirely.
Windows Password Key is affordable and easy to use. We wish it accepted USB drives, but it's a good place to start when you need to reset your Windows passwords.
Editors' note: This is a review of the trial version of Windows Password Key 8.5.
Windows Password Key is considered as the best tool to reset local administrator and user passwords on any Windows system like Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7 (32/64 bit), Windows Vista (32/64 bit), Windows XP, 2000, NT, Windows Server 2012 (R2)/2008 (R2)/2003 (R2). It creates a password recovery CD/DVD, USB Flash Drive for home, business and enterprise with an extremely competitive price. And most of all, it's the most popular and safe solution for removing your Windows 10 password until now. No need to call a technician, no need to re-install anything, and you certainly don't need to reformat.
This is the best software I have used. To my surprise, I have to use a CD to reset my Windows 10 login password. Luckily enough, I get a CD from my uncle. And finally I reset my Windows account password with this password key. ^_^
If you have a computer/laptop that the software was written for it should work. The interface/GUI is adequate and avoids command line entry for basic users.
Price is acceptable. These are the only reasons for one star.
Software trial is not fully functional you must purchase to have a 100% functional program. Unfortunately the software does not work on newer Dell's w/ UEFI Bios and Dell's proprietary partitions. It won't recognize the Dell partitions even when disabling secure UEFI Bios settings. The FAQ instructions are poorly written but if you are knowledgeable this can be ignored ( extremely hard for basic user to understand how to use ISO image, how to change BIOS settings etc.)
Software programmers are still experimenting with their software and tried to do fixes on the fly to avoid refunding me my money. Within 2 days of purchase I tried to get a refund as the software did not work on a Dell computer I was working on. Their help desk personnel in Taiwan are rewriting their FAQ's on the fly. The company is independent and have an agreement to sell software they produce under the digital river portal. They DO NOT HONOR THE 30 DAY MONEY BACK GUARANTY. Don't waste your money if you have a newer Dell computer/laptop.
