"all-around useful audio video codec application"
Pros: no need to labour downloading specific codecs and filters yet ending back to square one, that is, receiving those annoyingly irritating video and audio dialogue box errors notification
Cons: why include windows media player classic (321) when most computer users are already looking forward to the next version of windows media player 11 and microsoft has been convincing users to download, experience & enjoy their media player application

"Needed program to play mp4s download from Youtube etc."
Pros: Plays my mp4s, has a favorite playlist menu so you can easily access your files.
Cons: Sometimes audio doesn't play, but I just replay file and sound is fine.
Summary: Simple to use program and plays mp4s. I didn't want Apple program. I only use program as a player.

"Confusing interface for novice users."
Pros: Many options for advanced users.
Cons: Some newer Codecs still missing, particularly for creation and recording that weren't installed by applications on 64 bit XP.
Summary: Unless quite knowlegeable of Codecs and their use, this release was probably confusing to the average user as to what needed to be installed or updated on their machines. It seemed to me that some Codecs seemed to be missing and were only for use i... read more >>
