Editors' reviewThis efficient Internet Explorer plug-in provides an easy way to gather images from the Web. Simply navigate to the desired Web page and activate the program with IE's toolbar or right-click menu. Then choose whether to rename files with a date stamp or a keyword. Web Picture Saver does the rest, downloading every image on the page and adding a numeric index to each filename. Discreet system-tray pop-ups notify you when the download is complete. The program recognizes JPEG, BMP, GIF, and PNG images, and it had no trouble negotiating simple HTML frames in our tests. You can set a minimum size for downloading so you don't end up with a pile of thumbnails and one-pixel GIFs. An included image viewer, ViVL See, offers basic slide-show functionality. There's nothing fancy here, but there doesn't need to be. Image hounds in a hurry will appreciate Web Picture Save's no-fuss operation.
