CNET Editors' review
So what will it be today, a T-shirt or an overcoat? With WeatherBug, you'll always know. This handy little program runs quietly in the system tray, displaying the current temperature and flashing when alerts come in from the National Weather Service. Double-clicking the tray icon calls up an easy-to-read display of temperature, wind, and humidity. Other tabs provide forecasts, weather maps, and news. On the downside, it only covers the United States. It also displays ads, though they usually appear within the application window. We can't guarantee you won't get the odd pop-up when the app is in focus, but the publisher claims you won't see any ads with the program minimized. Aside from those drawbacks, WeatherBug is a great way to keep from getting caught out in the rain.Publisher's Description

"Sometimes the ads carry viruses"
Version: WeatherBug 7.0.3
Pros
Gives you the weather ad updates
Cons
If it isn't minimized, sometimes those Fake antivirus ads pop up with it.
Summary
When the window is opened, the ads run freely. This would be fine, except some of the ads are actually viruses. My antivirus blocked them both. But beware. Do not keep this app open for extended periods of time. Check the weather, then minimize it.
Other than that, it's a fairly good program. -

"this is needed and fun too"
Version: WeatherBug 7.0.3
Pros
Not only do I get local weather but weather almost anywhere in the US
Cons
wish it was easier to get out of area weather. this program is id'd as malware by many of my security programs.
Summary
If you can mark the program as safe or ignore on your security programs, then this is well worth it. I also like the special alerts available, sometimes it is repeated over and over but that is the nature of alerts. 100 million people can't be wrong
