Version: WeatherBug 6.07
"There ARE Better Weather Monitors"
Pros: Brings weather information to your desktop in nifty fashion, and it's free.
Cons: Brings a lot of "friends" with it!
Rife with advertisements that hang off the main window and pop up in your face and zing and flash about to the point of being very annoying.
I know Weatherbug is very popular, but listen carefully: you absolutely, positively DO NOT have to put up with this level of intrusion just to get timely and accurate weather information! There are other weather monitors that display the EXACT same information from the EXACT same source, so why would anyone put up with this? The only answer I can think of that makes sense is that they just don't know any better. Well, now you will know better.
You can use Weather Pulse, or Weather Watcher (just to name two) for the same accurate, timely information that are far less intrusive, that don't go turning on settings all over Windows, and that have NO advertisements at all. Unless you for some reason LIKE being badgered to try drugging out on some purple pill or re-mortgage your home every six months, skip WeatherBug; it has long since outlived its cuteness and has been surpassed by other lighter, less intrusive programs.
All you want from a weather program is weather information, right? So get one that only gives weather infomation and not somebody's paid sales pitches.

Version: WeatherBug 6.07
Pros: It tells you the weather for anywhere in the U.S. The program has a nice interface. The toolbar that is put in IE is nice.
Cons: If you want to know the weather you can just go to weather.com.

Version: WeatherBug 6.07
Pros: It shows you the weather.
Cons: You can just go to weather.com and enter your zip code. I don't see why someone would need this unless you are too lazy to go to a website. It has a lot of ads and is just annoying. If you really need the weather right in front of you when on the computer, I guess download it.

"This application is stuffed full of spyware."
Pros: NONE, PLS READ THE CONS.
Cons: I am a very very paranoid IT expert, so I scan whatever files I download from the internet using about 4 or 5 of my 21, yes 21, anti-virus, anti-malware/spyware/adware programs. I used Windows Defender (Beta 2), Spybot - Search and Destroy, Ad-Aware SE Personal, Spyware Terminator and Spyware Doctor to scan the file and EVERY single program showed that WeatherBug had some form of spyware or another. I encourage ALL users to uninstall WeatherBug IMMEDIATELY and clean it up with CWShredder , WinPatrol or whatever anti-spyware programs you have.
