I downloaded the weatherbug yesterday 4/24/06, I have Windows XP and Norton Security. It worked fine, until I had to turn my computer off last night due to a storm. This morning I turned my computer back on and low and behold, the weatherbug had locked my computer up! I had to go into safe mode to get rid of it. This is something that a newby won't know how to do. So my advice is; NOT TO DOWNLOAD THE WEATHERBUG!!! BEWARE, IT WILL DO TO YOU WHAT IT DID TO ME!!!

Pros
It was easily installable, and is prety reliable. It alerts to severe weather faster than my weather alert radio does! It's a reliable and quick weather monitoring system.
Cons
It is ad-based, and you have to "pick a sponsor" about once a week, and if you pick one with "flashy" ads, it can slow down the response to mouse clicks within weatherbug. (I recommend Encarta) It only allows you to receive weather alerts for one area, which sometimes can delay you receiving weather alerts in your area.

I love Weatherbug. I read one some reviews how they have had problems and how it is annoying and i never had problems installing it and it is something that gets my family and i prepared for storms

This is a great program for getting accurate weather right where you live - not at the airport or some other place that has weather much different than where you live. You can also keep track of weather where your family members live, which is terrific for me as my daughter and her family lives in south Florida [the last two hurricanes in FL went right over her house] and we live in north Florida.

I only liked the fact that at least it provided me with the forecast.
Cons
Sometimes, the forecasts would be incorrect-before I uninstalled it, it said that there was a thunderstorm coming in, and I waited and waited-nothing. And I'm not exactly sure if it had any spyware or adware.

I love it, It tells me when rain, snow, tornados, and if for whatever reason a fire storm is coming. It has great up to date information. I highly recommend this for download.

It took forever to load up on startup on my computer, so tried to change this but nothing worked so I tried to uninstall it. To what I thought was my luck it said "wait! Do you want to uninstall or configure so doesnt have startup program?". So I kept it, but when I started it, it just tried to make a new startup program, So great, but annoying
