This updated weather application offers a smorgasbord of weather-related data. Once you've provided a zip code or city, Weather Watcher's easy-to-use interface displays detailed weather information, including forecasts, temperature, and expected highs and lows. You can add as many locations as you'd like and switch among them using the system-tray icon.
Automatic updates keep you abreast of the current wind speed, dew point, humidity, barometric pressure, and moon phases. You can display your location's current weather conditions by mousing over the temperature readout in your system tray. Weather Watcher provides extensive customizations, measurement conversions, and numerous maps from all over the globe, and a log for quick reference. You can view weather data with hourly and daily forecasts, and create a keyword list to filter severe weather alerts.
The application also features a wallpaper changer for your desktop using several file formats, including JPEG, GIF, BMP, and HTML. Our only serious complaint is its hefty 19MB memory usage. Overall, though, this informative, customizable program can benefit a wide range of users, and it's free to boot. This is a top pick.

"Excellent and clean software with plenty of features and low memory usage"
Pros: I've been using weather watcher for about 6 months now it's the best weather software I have used hands down.
1. Very descriptive, pleasant and clean interface with plenty of options to customize.
2. Loads of features available and covers the whole gamut of weather features you would like to keep track of - very comprehensive.
3. I like the map feature where you can pull up the most current weather maps from satellite feeds.
4. Love the feature where I can use the current weather map as a wallpaper which can be set to update according to your preference.
5. Plenty of control over how information is being displayed, whether is it a rollover on the system tray or a full fledged windows display.
6. Can be setup to be least intrusive or most intrusive with updates, weather alerts according to your preference.
7. Uses very less system resources
8. Data available in metric or FPS or both systems at the same time.
9. Based on the type of package you want to download, totally addware and spyware free
10. Best of all, a quality software which is FREE!
Cons: None whatsoever.
This may not even be a con, but for users who do not want to be bothered with too much features might find options and customization available a bit daunting.

"Handy and inobtrusive; gives timely alerts too."
Pros: The interface is easy to use with one click to choose an hour or week view. Lunar phases is another plus with regard to activity planning. Since I bike every day I like the feature that shows wind direction and speed. That helps me plan my route.
Cons: I wish that the barometer would have just a bit more explanation of what "rising, steady, falling" MEANS in terms time - are we heading toward or away from the "fair" or the "storm"?
