This updated weather application offers a smorgasbord of weather-related data. Once you've provided a zip code or city, Weather Watcher's easy-to-use interface displays detailed weather information, including forecasts, temperature, and expected highs and lows. You can add as many locations as you'd like and switch among them using the system-tray icon.
Automatic updates keep you abreast of the current wind speed, dew point, humidity, barometric pressure, and moon phases. You can display your location's current weather conditions by mousing over the temperature readout in your system tray. Weather Watcher provides extensive customizations, measurement conversions, and numerous maps from all over the globe, and a log for quick reference. You can view weather data with hourly and daily forecasts, and create a keyword list to filter severe weather alerts.
The application also features a wallpaper changer for your desktop using several file formats, including JPEG, GIF, BMP, and HTML. Our only serious complaint is its hefty 19MB memory usage. Overall, though, this informative, customizable program can benefit a wide range of users, and it's free to boot. This is a top pick.

Weather Watcher will allow you to automatically retrieve your weather data at a set interval, display the current temperature in a customized tray icon, display the current condition image in a tray icon, designate which weather information is displayed in the Weather Watcher system tray tooltip, convert the weather data using almost any conversion, display a weather map as your desktop wallpaper, log the weather data in any format, export the weather data in any format, customize the look of the Weather Watcher interface and icons via skins, and much more.
Version 5.6.5 adds Splendid forecast skin options window (see the new "O" image on the interface).

Pros: Its free.
It has a very attractive interface.
It provides great future weather reports.
The hourly reports go very far into the future...gotta love it.
Cons: Not as attractive as Weather Pulse. Not many other cons outside of that.

Pros: user friendly, timely weather updates, radar coverage of the states could use some work but gives you the general idea of where the weather is at. hourly and daily forcasts are good.has some animated maps.
Cons: uses the weather channel maps and more than likely forecasts, so might as well get the weather channels own download.

Pros: I love this little piece of software. I have been using it for years. The author is always trying to make it better. It just gives you all you need to know about your local or world weather without spyware, adware or popups. Best of all, it's always been free.
Cons: Not a thing, It's perfect.

"It's perfection is its simplicity"
Pros: I love how easy it is to use, and it never fails on me. I can always rely on it to load upon windows start up and never freeze on me or try to sell me something.
