Despite some quality issues, this outdoorsy screensaver has enough positives to make it worth consideration. Water Illusion Screensaver rotates among 10 mostly water-themed scenes animated with various effects: rippling and reflecting water, for instance, and a rushing waterfall, and snow falling on the mountains. We like the soothing water sounds and the numerous configuration options. The animations are not spectacular, and effects such as a zoom transition don't add much to the scene (thankfully, these are easily toggled off). However, you can choose to disable the sound, view images in random or sequential order, and save the scene as an AVI video clip. Why the fourth star? Because of the included Water Illusion Studio, which enables you to add your own photos to the rotation, complete with rippling rain or snow effects, and other nice touches. Fans of scenic beauty should at least take this application for a spin.
