CNET Editors' review

by: CNET Staff on February 27, 2009

This feature-rich application offers alarms, reminders, and more to help wake you up or put you to sleep. Wake Up News 2005's well-designed interface sports a digital timer and clock. You can set a wake-up alarm to play nearly any type of audio file. For those reluctant to wake up in the morning, a Snooze button is offered. The program can be set to automatically launch a Web site with the alarm, and several news sites such as the Chicago Tribune and The New York Times are offered, though any site can be added. You also can create simple notifications and set the timer to countdown any length of time. Wake Up News 2005 also can play music files that will fade out at a user-specified time so you can go to sleep listening to your favorite tunes. This sleek alarm program is definitely worth a download and anyone can use it.
