This unusual screensaver reminds us of one of those people who have a whole head full of random, trivial knowledge. Wacko Facto 3D Screensaver displays a random selection of offbeat factoids rendered in three-dimensional fonts of different styles, sizes, and colors. A couple of the program's nuggets of knowledge: "Pigs can become alcoholic" and "The average person falls asleep in seven minutes." Since the program is all text-based, don't expect mind-blowing graphics. Still, we do appreciate that the quotes and the backgrounds are full of vivid color. The screensaver's settings panel offers a check box for muting audio, but we never heard any sound no matter what we did. Other customization options include the ability to determine when the screensaver shuts down and a library of transition effects. Wacko Facto 3D Screensaver only can be tested for three days, so you may need to register if you want to see all 500 factoids. Trivia buffs and know-it-alls will find that this program is right up their alley.
