Summary
When I first started needing a FTP, I got their home edition in 2006. When I upgraded last time, I got WS_FTP Professional version 12. I had contacted the company looking to find out if the home edition could be updated and they recommended I upgrade to Pro version. When I needed help upgrading it from home edition to Pro, their customer service was very helpful.

When it works it works well.
Cons
70% of the time it doesn't work or has problems, licensing method causes a lot of problems and continually has to be renewed. This is the only software that works with their FTP software.
Software is sometimes slow and laggy.Summary
Avoid working with this company, or you will be stuck to a 1 way solution that is not in the least bit flexible. The software is not the greatest, does what it should but you will hate yourself later when you realize the company you got with.

"Don't Buy It--Buggy & Ipswitch Charges for Tech Support"

When it works, it works well.
Cons
There's a bug in WS_FTP Pro that causes an undismissable modal dialog box to retain program focus when the "Change Folder Error" occurs, which happens randomly/unexpectedly and repeatedly. Ipswitch will not help you unless you pay for tech support. The only way to get around it is to close WS_FTP Pro, open Regedit, and delete the keys under HK_Users\(node)\Software\Ipswitch\WS_FTP\LastState\RightPane and ...\LeftPane, and then restart WS_FTP. But is that something you really want to do all the time?
