Publisher's description
From AnalogX :So you want to impress your friends with your singing skills, but they only listen to boring old top 40 songs--and your brand-new karaoke machine is broken. There's still hope. AnalogX Vocal Remover works on the same principles that hardware removers do: In most instances vocals are equally mixed in both channels and can be identified and removed by simply changing the phase on one channel by 180 degrees. Although this won't remove vocals in all instances, it works in many cases and can sometimes be used to remove bass or breakbeat sections, which is great for sampling. Depending on the effects used on the vocals, sometimes the reverb or ambience remains.
Vocal Remover requires a stereo sound stream and supports either 16-bit or 32-bit data types. To use the Winamp Vocal Remover, you must already have Winamp installed as well as a stereo sound stream, and it supports only 16-bit data types.

Version: Vocal Remover (Winamp) 1.03
Pros: Might work for some types of music.... maybe
Cons: Removes the vocals but theres a compromise between sound quality and amount of vocals removed. I intended to use it to take out the lyrics so i could hear guitaring better to tab from. Once id removed the vocals it was too muddy to hear proporly

"Not a bad program, just doesn't work for the type of music I use."
Pros: The plug-in is pretty straight forward once you get it installed correctly. All it is is a scrollbar, so its not too complicated. Its good for a free product.
Cons: Getting the plug-in isn't so easy to access through WinAmp as putting the file in the correct directory and it just showing up in the Preferences window. You have to dig around a bit because it shows up under the -Plugins - DSP/Effect area. Not that that's really hard to find, but still.
And the link in the Readme file for FAQs has nothing to do with this program in particular; just the creator and in general all that he/she does.
And sadly it doesn't work very well at all for the types of music I am using. It takes out almost everything, with the vocals low but echoing in the background annoyingly.

"It does take out the voice but it also removes other sounds. Makes the song unrecognizable"
