  • "Virtual Warfare"
  • Version reviewed: Virtual Warfare
Four years is an eternity in video-game terms, but we doubt even in 2001 players enjoyed Virtual Warfare's primitive 3D graphics, repetitive music track, and awful controls. Virtual Warfare is a real-time strategy game with modern tanks, AAA guns, helicopters, and artillery. Unlike in most such games, you can t scroll simply by moving the mouse to a screen border. Instead, you have to hold the middle mouse button and drag. This makes controlling units a chore. For instance, you can t drag and select multiple units if they don't fit in one screen. Now add in annoying unit reports, choppy graphics with low-budget textures, and a short music track running in an irritating loop. Sound like fun? Thought not. On top of all that, the game installs WildTangent's ad-serving software on your computer, which may subject you to mysterious pop-up commercials. We don't recommend Virtual Warfare by any means.
