This program is supposed to help you pinpoint the location of Seattle buses on their routes, but it proved to be more confusing than informative. Virtual Earth - Bus Tracker is offered as a Microsoft Gadget and is only available online. The Gadget Gallery screenshot of the program shows a nicely designed interface with easily identifiable icons representing the locations of the buses and bus stops for a particular route overlaid on a map of Seattle. However, when you install the gadget, the map isn't visible and the icons are shown against a dark background. In addition to a good working knowledge of Seattle's geography, you'll need to know the exact route number as the program doesn't include a directory of routes. The program only covers Seattle buses and only works with Internet Explorer browsers. No user settings or configuration options are offered, but data updates automatically every 60 seconds. The daily commuter might find some benefit from this simplistic freeware program, but casual users will need more data to really understand just how close (or far away) that bus really is.Publisher's description
