Vire Launcher stands out as an innovative and smooth home screen launcher with amazing transitions and clever home screen tricks, but it suffers from minor bugs and glitches. Nevertheless, because of features like dynamic grid and scale for customizing icons, beautiful reflections, and a smart drawer under the clock widget this potent launcher is a must check if you're eager to personalize your device.
Vire Launcher installs in just a few seconds. Since it significantly alters your home screen, you'll need a bit of time to get used to it. For a start it adds a sophisticated 3D clock widget, which you can extend into a handy drawer, which can hold app icons and other widgets. The dynamic grid and scale and the advanced icon resizing options enable you to use icons of different sizes and arrange them in ways that other launchers don't let you. Another nice feature is the ultimate folder, which supports widgets, icons, and applets, acting as a mini desktop within the home screen. The screen transitions are gorgeous and remarkably smooth, providing some of the most stunning effects you'll see on Android. While the overall performance of the launcher on a Nexus 7 was quite impressive, we encountered visuals glitches with the 3D clock and drawer, as well as black screens. Moreover, though the developers claim their launcher works on older phones, we've found that it easily eats up well over 135MB of RAM.
The sophisticated Vire Launcher impresses with its ingenuity and smooth transitions. However, it requires a bit more polishing and optimization before it can rival GO LauncherEX and other popular launchers. It's still worth checking out, though.
