This free toolbar gives users one-click access for downloading their favorite video files, but users will need to either download and install the free video player or use their own to actually play the files.
Video Download Toolbar fits snugly into your Internet Explorer Window. The toolbar itself isn't customizable, and doesn't offer users the more standard toolbar features, such as e-mail notification, and weather information. It does offer a wide array of shortcut buttons for searching, downloading, playing, and browsing for videos. The Settings menu let us select the location for the downloaded files, as well as apply settings to avoid duplicate and incomplete file downloads. With the Auto button turned to on, each video link that we visited automatically started downloading. A small window popped up, displaying snippets from the video, and the download status. In our tests, each file was quickly and successfully downloaded and saved to our location of choice.
As a bonus, the toolbar also has a link to its free FLV player if you don't already have one. And, in case you need any help, there is also a link that takes you to the publisher's Web site to for answers. Video Download Toolbar is recommended for any user who frequently downloads FLV files.

Pros
Unlike most other downloaders using site specific protcols like youtube or url cut and paste methods which don't always work, this detects actual flv load and can reliably capture flv 99% of the time regardless of site.
Cons
Note - on Win7 64 bit, just run its setup program in compatibility mode and it will install fine.

Migared to windows 7 64 bit. as of 15 of December 2010 Video Download Toolbar will give you Incompatibility error.

The installation tried to change my default browser setting without any explicit warning. That's minor, but I uninstalled it immediately since I had no idea what other unauthorized changes it was making.

I've been downloading music videos with Youtube Downloader, which I love. I had problems with the Vevo music videos being too skinny. Using Video Download Toolbar, the downloads are perfect - bodies aren't skinny. I have a new love! ;)
I'm converting the FLV videos into avi format using Oxelon Media Converter (Video size: 640x480, 30 frames, 2400 bitrate). I then join them all together and burn them on a CD to play on my DVD player for my TV. My DVD player plays most formats.
