From Venta :VentaFax is a powerful fax and answering machine software with color fax support. It sends and receives faxes and turns your PC into a versatile answering machine with remote control and email integration. You can retrieve your fax and voice messages from any touchtone phone and also have your email messages and faxes forwarded to you as email attachments.
VentaFax also supports Caller ID and allows you to record a telephone conversation. Version 5.8 new functions have been added. Windows XP x64 and Server 2003 x64 support added. French interface localization file included in the installation archive. Now you can see the ACT. Contacts list as one of Ventafax phone books.

Pros: This software is easy to setup and easy to use. I have not had the need to utilize the tech support, it has not given me reason to.
Cons: Nothing to dislike.

"Fantastic support. They really stuck by me. Fast replys with helpful answers"
Pros: In Real Estate a lot of paper work has to move between agents, buyers and sellers. This fax program does a great job. Receive contracts when we are away from our office and speeds the negotiation process with good clear pages going back and forth. The header can be turned of so the page does not shrink with each send. Very professional.
In the business version the page format can be tif or PDF, very handy as every one can open a clear PDF
Cons: Not the easiest program to learn, but worth the effort.
A PDF will sometimes get grainy when printed to VentaFax

"Beware of technical support (or the lack of thereof)"
Pros: The software is pretty good when it is working.
Cons: The program does not work with some modems. I had to replace my Lucent modem to make it working. The worst thing about the program is its technical support. It is the worst I ever encountered. They are arrogant and not helpful at all. Basically, what they do is suggesting that you read a help file, which is also not very helpful. Another issue is the program?s limited ability to edit supplied one (!) cover page.

"Best fax/answering machine software I have ever used!"
Pros: I love this program. We need to recieve faxes and also phone messages so this program worked great for us! I used the free version for a week before I purchased it to make sure it was what we needed.
Cons: Can't figure out how to actually send a fax. Since we only receive faxes this hasn't been a problem for us but it would be nice to know that I could send a fax if I needed to. Doesn't seem to be very user friendly when sending faxes.
