UltraShredder is a standalone, USB portable file shredder which deletes sensitive files by overwriting them with random characters, saving it to disk each time, and then bypasses the recycle bin, thus acting as your personal, portable file shredder. If the file were to be recovered by a data recovery program, they would only be able to see unintelligible characters on disk where the file used to be. The program is a great tool to destroy sensitive data, and is very small with a minute memory footprint, and makes no changes to your system whatsoever.

When you go over, let's say 500 MB, shredding can take a while (but is still satisfactory).
Summary
As with other things, if you go on shredding large things, think of the Windows Virtual Memory.
Maybe you could make this setting in the Windows Registry first?:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE> SYSTEM > CurrentControlSet > Control >
SessionManager > Memory Management
Key: ClearPageFileAtShutdown.
Set to: 1.
(Also important whenst working with video-files/mp3-files. Tune it up baby!).

If you need Explorer right-click integration, fancy skins, etc look elsewhere. But if all you need is a stand-alone app that shreds, this is the one. No installation needed, just open the program in the zip, select the files you want to shred (I personally drag-and-dropped them in), and click shred. It also allows you to select how many passes. Put the (very small) file in a floppy or flash drive and you can take it with you on the go.
