This feature-loaded FTP program met all our expectations and then some. TurboFTP's easy-to-understand interface employs typical side-by-side file-viewing windows, along with a command-status window at the top and a file-queue window at the bottom. It lets you customize the view, as well. Although it lacks Windows shell integration, you can drag files from Windows Explorer into its upload queue. In addition to such features as secure file transfers, an address book, and a passive mode, TurboFTP has a scheduler that makes the program handy for professionals. The scheduler can run as an NT service, lets you save job profiles, and can send an e-mail when a job finishes. It offers remote file editing, a simple file-attribute editor, and a custom-command window. Web developers will find the directory-synchronize feature very useful, along with the file renamer, which can be set to change .htm to .html, for example. Our only complaints are that the custom-command window is a bit small, and the list of preloaded FTP addresses is a bit out of date. Those small issues aside, TurboFTP combines ease of use and a professional feature set.
