- Version reviewed: TrackMania Power Up demo
The game consists of Solo, Multiplayer, and Network racing, plus a separate track editor. The Solo portion of the gameplay consists of Puzzles and Races. In Puzzles, you create a course (including mandatory checkpoints), then drive it under a certain time to earn medals. Those medals translate into "coppers," which earn you more parts for creating new tracks. In Races, you drive a premade track as fast as possible. Multiplayer mode lets multiple gamers compete on the same machine, and Network mode allows for LAN or Internet play. Finding and joining games is wonderfully simple, but the number of games available varies significantly depending on the time of day. This Power Up demo includes all the new construction blocks from the Power Up expansion pack, along with snow and off-road races for the first time in a demo.
