Publisher's description
From Atari :Set in the near future, TimeShift from Saber Interactive will take the first-person genre to an entirely different dimension marked by erratic time and unrelenting action. TimeShift transports gamers to a strange yet familiar world where individual rights have been eradicated and a tyrannical leader rules ruthlessly with an iron fist.
Gamers assume the role of renowned and recently retired test pilot Colonel Michael Swift, who has just lost his only daughter to a bus accident. Bleak, depressed and desperate for an escape from his misery, Swift decides to accept a recent offer from the US Government. Armed with a time-control device called the "Quantum Suit" and a time machine called the "Chronomicon," Swift sets out to test the most significant inventions of the century. He is briefly sent back in time to plant an experimental probe. Upon his return to the present, a shift has occurred. The world he left has changed beyond all recognition. And his knowledge of the true time stream has made him an enemy of the state. Swift is now both on the run and on a mission to set time straight once again.
Use your ability to slow, stop, and rewind time to battle your futuristic foes in this demo for the new action first person shooter game, Timeshift.

Version: Timeshift demo
Pros: This review is for the demo only!
It seems good in terms of gameplay, graphics, and sound. It has an original idea which is nice to see in a world of gta clones,ww2 shooters, and halo knock-offs
Cons: Lacks direction because it doesn't tell you what buttons do what. You'll have to read the read me file for button actions.
The graphics are choppy(ati x800gt).Short demo with no Multiplayer(i think).

Version: Timeshift demo
"Fun game but needs a high-end system for medium+ settings"
Pros: Messing with time is fun. Freezing time and stealing the enemy's weapons or shooting them and see the blood spurt but freeze in midair is really cool. What's even better is when after you killed a whole squad while time is frozen then unfreeze time and the bodies will drop all at once, as if an invisible stalker took the life out of them.
Very nice particle effects.
Cons: Graphics hog. With a 6600GT, I can play this game very well at 800x600 with low details. Any higher and video latency will become an annoyance. High settings are probably designed for 6800, 7800, and x1800 (not sure about x800).
The bad thing about the video settings is that they don't give you alot of options to tweak. You only get to change Resolution, Details (low, medium, best), Vsync, and AA in the settings. "Details" changes the amount of shaders, lights, and possibly textures. You won't be able to tweak those settings individually.
Large 577.25mb download but short demo. You get into about 5 firefights and run into a couple of puzzles and it's over.

Version: Timeshift demo
Pros: To give the player a 4th dimension is just great. Pausing the game to get through remote opened gates is just very good found. Taking away weapons from enemies when you stopped time is so much fun! The engine is also one of the pretiest i've ever seen.
Cons: Almost everything is scripted, if you play the game again, you know excactly where all the enmies are and wich paths they take. This takes a lot of replay value away. The game is about walking through predefined paths and there's almost no getting of the path, hopefully this will be corrected.

Version: Timeshift demo
Pros: None
Cons: This game sucks! Why in the world would the developers release a demo with a error in the file while trying to load this? Do not waste your time people! Although I did not care for Max Payne 2 much, I'd play it, before I tried to play this game. Bad, very bad!
