If you're getting tired of firing up your Web browser to check the weather several times per day, this free program will make your life easier. The Weather Project's small main window tells you just about everything you'd need to know about the current conditions in any given city, including temperature, expected highs and lows, record temperatures, precipitation, dew point, humidity, and barometric pressure. All information appears to be taken directly from the Weather Channel's Web site, so it's nothing you couldn't find online. Still, it is nice you can configure the application to update its information as often as you like. We also appreciate the tools for viewing a radar map and a five-day forecast, particularly since they don't require you to launch a browser window. In our eyes, The Weather Project's biggest oversight is it won't let you view conditions in multiple locations at once. We can see how this simple but useful program can benefit a wide range of home users, particularly since it costs nothing.Publisher's description
From R & L Systems :The Weather Project is a weather program designed to give seamless weather information from your desktop, optionally logging information to a universal CSV file. Using the CSV format, you can load it into Excel or a database and trend parts or all of the weather information. It updates at various times from one minute to several hours. When minimized it drops to the traybar giving the current temperature when the mouse is hovered over it. The program quietly works with dial-up, cable, DSL, LAN connections, and with proxies. Local map information with auto updating is available, along with detailed weather forecasting from one to 10 days. Some international support is available.
Version 9.2.42 added Animate map option and fixes a minor bug.
