If you're looking for a digital mechanic for your computer, this could do the trick. Developers of The Ultimate Troubleshooter make very high claims for their tool, but it does do a good job of outlining exactly what programs and services are running on your computer, and helping to delete unnecessary or harmful ones. We appreciate the thorough and clear explanations of almost all processes, services, or start-up items the program finds. The software provides warnings about possible problems and straightforward recommendations as to whether you should keep a program or remove it. Much of this information is not available in the demo, however. After registering, you can contact the software's developers directly if it doesn't recognize something running on your computer. The interface can be a bit quirky, but if you're looking for more control over what's happening under the hood of your computer, The Ultimate Troubleshooter is an excellent bet.Publisher's description

Version: The Ultimate Troubleshooter 4.80
"DIfferent approch than most similar tools"
Pros: A bit more information about services and start up entries that are troublemakers.
Cons: Ten times use only is too limiting for trial version. Descriptinos of services are blocked. Too many disabled basic functions for a trial version. Interface needs a bit more work.
Summary: Looks promising for fixing problems not really covered by other tools. Too limited to really test properly hence the rating of three stars. This kind of tool is not something used regularly, more for the occasional check. The interface looks a bit b... read more >>
