The Life Record is a 100% web based EMR, or electronic medical record application for Mac OS X. It will run under any platform (Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, PocketPC or Palm PDA) - with the actual core software requiring Mac OS X. The Life Record provides support for voice recognition and dictation, DICOM imaging, automatic billing and coding, and a user interface so simple physicians can begin using it right away.

Life Record supports Prescription verification, on-line drug databases, integrated billing and accounts receivable, web based scheduling and LifePax Version 2 encounter forms. Features include embedded free E-Prescribing via LivePrescribe.com, interoffice messaging and the Patient DoxBox virtually eliminating the need for any paper documents whatsoever in the patient chart. Life Record 2.1.0 offers LivePractice and EMRAnywhere as add on options putting your EMR online anywhere you are.Fully integrated electronic billing in your practice or with external clearinghouse partners. CCR compliant import and export of medical records for compatibility with other EMR applications.
What's new in this version: We've added even more features to Life Record and put them in the 3.01 Edition! This new version sports everything the previous Life Record EMR has, but we've added Physician Order Entry with built in signature management, built in Work Note functions with signature management and made it all available from the main patient demographic menu. We've made minor bug fixes as well.

Version: The Life Record EMR 3.01 Core Edition
Pros
Don't know. Software has still not arrived after 3 weeks
Cons
No one answers the phone at Life Record. Messages and emails are not always returned. Life Record takes your money, and then waits 2 weeks to ship, then ships U.S. mail ground, even if you ask them to overnight. The customer service is not there.
Summary
Go with another EMR system that offers customer service. Make sure that other medical offices in your region have had a positive experience with your chosen EMR company.
