Tango Video Calls is a free VoIP application for iOS with high goals, but low performance. The app is very easy to use, but its interface misses the finesse of a native iOS application such as FaceTime.
With its intuitive interface, most users will be able to skip the video tutorial and get started right away, especially those who've used a VoIP app before. Tango Video Calls does offer some great features, such as the FaceTime-ish video call (the primary aim of the app) or (what we liked the most) video messaging. We loved the concept of breaking down the wall between mobile operating systems, and we do value the initiative from Tango's developers. It was so good to have a video chat with our friends running Android, which isn't an option with FaceTime. Another feature we loved is the capability to receive Tango calls without the need to continuously keep the app running in the background. This prevents Tango from being a data and (most importantly!) battery hog. We did have some issues with the video quality of the calls, but these didn't detract from the app's overall usefulness.
We also liked the app's capability to switch between cameras, similar to Skype or FaceTime, but the images weren't as crisp as during a FaceTime call. What is good, though, is that Tango is not limited to Wi-Fi connections; it can also use your 3G connection, which makes it very handy.
Despite a few video and image issues, we highly recommend this app for its ease of use and its capability to cross platforms.

"Tango uses my email for spamming my contacts"

None that I can think of.
Cons
App kept locking up on Android 4.1 so I removed it months ago. Tango still sends spam to my contact list. I have tried to delete the account per the Tango website by emailing them. They emailed back to add Tango app again, then under user, write DELETE ACCOUNT. After I did try that, 4 of my other email addresses got another spam email from Tango saying XXXX invites you to join Tango. Click link to download. WOT rates Tango as RED; and I now think they desire that RED listing.
Summary
Use Skype. It isn't a spammer. My experience with Tango was it didn't work on my phone, followed by they make it nearly impossible to delete your account and keep spamming your contact list.

I'm not a user, all I know is that it is a major pain in my neck because a friend has it and can't remove my cell phone number from it.
Cons
It sends everyone in your address book junk texts - which they have to pay for - at 4 a.m. Please ask yourself if you really want to spam your boss, your mother-in-law, your friends, and your business contacts at 4 a.m. before downloading this app. SOME people are not on an unlimited texting plan because their primary mode of communication is still talking to other people, and these people have to pay for these texts. I pay $5 per text if I go over my limit and if I have to pay $5 because your phone is sending me Tango spam, I have no choice but to block your number.
Summary
Use some common sense please. It is never ok to send advertising to your contexts - especially when they have to pay to receive it.

Pros
Downloads for phone and PC, other similar apps dont have download for PC. Just open app find contact and call. It finds other users very quickly, lets you know if they do not have Tango. Like that it is not just Iphones/pads that can use it. Runs in the background so no signing in and its always on.
Cons
Would like to have option to text message my contacts from my PC otherwise have no complaints so far!

After install Tango app into my new iPhone 4 s, all contact in my iPhone got spam email from my yahoo email (not from Tango email address) invite them to join Tango. Seriously, Tango has implement some spam in my iPhone and trigger a cascade of spam email send to everyone in my contacts. The Apple support told me to reset the iPhone to the factory setting! That's the only to clean the spam ware that come after install Tango.
So beware to everyone, before you sign up Tango, you should prepare yourself for your email account been used as spam email sender!!Summary
Beware, you will become a spammer working for Tango!!

Fast, free, easy to make an account, bypasses login process, find friends easily, and lets you video chat with friends on any mobile devices and platforms.
Cons
Connection can be a little shaky at times, but it depends on your connection, too.
Summary
Tango is one of my favorite video calling apps. Creating an account was incredibly easy, and it was able to quickly identify my friends on my contact list who have an account. I am able to video call those who don't necessarily have an iPhone. I also like that you don't have to login. Just simply open the app, tap on the person you want to call, tap on the video icon, and bam! you're having a video chat. Simple, easy, and free!
