This software alarm clock earns big points for its extensive features and flexibility. Talking Time Keeper lets you schedule alarms, set timers, and check world times. It comes with two voices, male and female, with a chance to download more from the developer's site, including a Morgan Freeman sound-alike.
You can even create your own voice with a built-in editor, but the extensive alarm features are the real strength here. For example, you can set picture alarms with MP3 audio and schedule programs to launch at a certain time. There's even an interactive global day-and-night map with accurate sunrise and sunset times. The main-menu interface is compact and intuitive, and it supports skins for greater customization. A simple screensaver displays the current time and the world map.
Given all that, we think Talking Time Keeper is a reasonable download for those who want a time manager with a human touch.
Publisher's description
From Mark Judge :Talking Time Keeper is a fully featured desktop time package. Its features include the ability to announce the time using real voices, including celebrity sound-alike voices (either at the click of a button or at specified intervals), plus chimes (including Grandfather Clock mode), alarms and timers, which display messages and pictures, run programs, shutdown your PC, speak, and play sounds and MP3s, all with a snooze option. The application includes a calendar displaying upcoming alarms; more than 250 world-time locations (editable); a day-and-night world map; the phases of the moon; stopwatches with lap timers; and atomic time synchronization. The program also includes a voice-building tool (all you need is a microphone), and a skin building tool. You can decide exactly what is heard or displayed, and even add a personal touch by displaying a photo. Also included are screen saver and world day and night wallpaper options. Version 18 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, and bug fixes.

Version: Talking Time Keeper 18
Pros: It is kind of fun to have this program talk to you. (different voices available, some free) The hourly chime, which can be turned off, kept me aware of the current time. Lots of other features.
Cons: The newest free version (as compared to older versions) is a little naggy. It comes with a big slash screen, offering to download a crawler toolbar. You can uncheck each time to avoid the download. Of course, this is only on the free version.
