TOK can be used to check wether a given machine is active on the LAN. The called machine responds with its network name, adapter address and some statistics (stats are zero for Win/NT). This utility is unique because it can "ping" a NETBIOS name (machine or logon user-id), an adapter's mac-address or an IP-address. The utility supports Token-Ring and Ethernet. The utility will not work across routers with broadcast disabled (i.e. over the Internet).
