Publisher's Description
From Josh Jacob:
TNEF's Enough allows Macs to read and extract files from Microsoft TNEF stream files. The files are usually received by SMTP based e-mail programs from Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Outlook users. The SMTP based e-mail program will usually receive either a MIME attachment named "winmail.dat" or a MIME attachment with the type "application/ms-tnef."
The file is a rich text (or MAPI) message that is sent from Outlook to Exchange. When Exchange sends the message to an outside server it writes the MAPI message as a MIME attachment. The unfortunate side effect of this plan is if the Outlook user has someone in their address book as a person who can receive "Rich Text" then the user will receive the TNEF file whether the user uses Outlook or not.
What's new in this version: Support PPC and Intel Macs for OS versions 10.5/10.6.

Summary
A nice, helpful utility

"Works as needed."
Version: TNEF's Enough 2.2
Pros
It opens the .dat file, but doesn't open the sub files.
Cons
You can't drag the files out of the window to see the jpg
Summary
Why should I have to deal with .dat files. If Windows mail programs were set-up correctly, these wouldn't be sent in email.

"Works as described."
Version: TNEF's Enough 2.2
Pros
It does get the job done.
Cons
Very bare bones. Assigns single letter name to contents of an attachment. User has to manually assign a name to the enclosed files in the order in which they are listed.
Summary
Wish I didn't have to deal with winmail.dat files at all, but for now I appreciate having TNEF's Enough around.

I received a copy of a critical reference article via e-mail, and eyup, it was attached as a "winmail.dat".
Ugghh. No idea how to deal with it.

easy to install, and worked really well. But that said, I did receive one file I couldn't translate, and I also had to quit the program, and try a few times for some of them. Still, a very useful little app.
and i'm not a computer pro.
thanks! -
