If you've got Sudoku fever, a freeware Pocket PC version of the grid-based logic game probably sounds like the greatest thing since, well, Pocket PCs. Unfortunately, SuDoku for Pocket PC disappointed us on most counts. It has a primitive interface and a critically poor set of features, which even its tiny size can't justify. It comes with only six predefined puzzles and doesn't allow you to generate new games automatically. The publisher suggests downloading new puzzles via the Internet, but we found no more than 25 online. You can't mark digits with colors or input them directly. To enter 9, for example, you have to click the cell nine times. Installing the game requires unzipping the downloaded package and manually copying the extracted CAB file via ActiveSync, though the rest of the setup process proceeded quickly and successfully. To be fair, SuDoku for Pocket PC works fine, without glitches or crashes. If you can get new puzzles from other sources and don't mind the cheesy interface, it's a decent stopgap until a better title comes along.Publisher's description

SuDoku allows you to save grids and input grids you have found on the Internet or in a newspaper. It can solve a grid that you are having difficulty with. SuDoku has pre-saved grids to get you started. You can also open many more grids from the Internet.

Version: SuDoku for Pocket PC 1
Pros: it works, the solver is really cool
Cons: there are only 6 puzzles inbuilt, the graphics are from the 60's

Pros: For someone who's new to Sudoku the 6 built in games were a good start and the other 21 downloadable ones will keep me going. Be sure to go [Game] [Open] [Open from Internet...] to get the other grids.
Cons: This game is a bit hefty on the memory side of things. Strongly recommend downloading the program and all the grids to a memory card. Or at least the grids (it'll save you about 2MB of internal memory).

"unable to follow instruction to copy cab to pocket pc"
Cons: Was unable to get program into PPC to even try it. Too weary to mess with it further since it seemed ok up to that point ... it just wouldn't copy to PPC - the copy button greyed out when I selected it as the location to copy to (Win XP)
