This program lets you explore Web sites offering stock information, but it won't wow you with its design. StockMarketXP SideWinder's dreary interface is crammed full of outdated buttons and a fixed browser window. Some buttons are links to stock-trading Web sites such as Money Central, NASDAQ, Real Time Traders, and Yahoo Finance. You can bookmark Web sites and create and edit portfolios on Yahoo. In addition, the program can open four browsers simultaneously. Though you can retrieve newsfeeds, the program has a short list of RSS links. Inclusion of tool tips and a help file would definitely benefit users, and the demo version is limited to a stingy 30-use trial. This application's frustrating design overshadows its capabilities, and most users, especially novices, should look elsewhere for stock information.
