It is frequently the case that Start menu enhancements turn out not to be enhancements at all, but ugly, clunky, annoying modifications that we can't wait to get rid of. Start Menu Organizer, however, is a thing of beauty. It's incredibly intuitive, does exactly what it says it will without a bunch of useless extra features, and performs a truly valuable service.
Take a look at your Start menu. Is the All Programs tab a clutter of random stuff with no rhyme or reason? Start Menu Organizer can help. The program's interface is simple and clean, requiring no explanation. The program provides users with premade folders with such labels as Games, Internet, Utilities, and so on, and users simply move each application in their Start menu into the appropriate folder. Users can create custom folders as well. The result is a Start menu organized into neat categories, a place for everything and everything in its place. Start Menu Organizer doesn't contain a bunch of extra features, and it doesn't need to. In addition to organizing the Start menu, it deletes dead shortcuts, and users can create a backup of their original Start menu in case they need to restore it for some reason. The program also supports seven different languages. That's all it does, and all it needs to do. The built-in Help file explains all of the program's functions, but we doubt many users will need to consult it.
Start Menu Organizer is free. It comes as a ZIP file, but it installs and uninstalls without issues. We strongly recommend this program to all users.

"Quick wasy way to increase productivity"
Pros: Intuitive interface got me up and running without any hiccups.
Backup/Restore makes it easy to recover should yo uget anything wrong
Good set of defautl categories - and easy to add where the default just don't cut it.Cons: Backup/Restore options aren't obvious and hidden away in the Main Menu - big buttons would be more helpful. Otherwise it just does what it says it should
Summary: Quiickly oranise your startup list to be much more intuitive and organised allowing you to quickly find that app. Particularly useful when your startup file list currently fills 5 menus on a 1900x1200 screen....

"Easy to configure your start menu. RTM first !!!"
Pros: UI is intuitive.
Initial backup of current start menu was a lifesaver because I hadn't read the instructions first.
Easy to construct an efficient, clean, start menu.
Nice shortcuts to create categories from existing start menu.Cons: Existing start menu entries were not replaced by my constructed version.
Had to create the new categories from the existing menu and then delete the stuff I didn't want.Summary: I couldn't easily figure out how to completely replace my existing start menu. This should be made more obvious.
The Backup and Restore functions are a great addition.
