Star Wars fans and seasoned gamers of every stripe will fall in love with Star Wars Republic Commando. We strongly recommend this first-person shooter, but be warned: it may devour hours of your time. As the leader of a Republic Commando squad tasked with freeing a Wookie, you'll face multiple challenges that will test your brain, your gaming skills, and your reaction time. We tried the demo's one scenario and were deeply impressed with the vivid sound, colorful textures, realistic physics, and detailed rendering of characters, constructions, landscapes, and vehicles. Multiplayer capabilities make the game even more attractive. Squad control is Republic Commando's most distinctive feature. To succeed, you'll have to use your squad members' unique abilities. Luckily, the game's one-button interface makes controlling your team more a pleasure than a chore. Make sure your PC is reasonably fast, with a modern 3D graphics card. You'll need some serious horsepower to experience all the thrills Star Wars Republic Commando has to offer.Publisher's description
From LucasArts Entertainment :Star Wars Republic Commando is a squad-based first person shooter that lets you explore the elite world of the Star Wars military. Version: Star Wars Republic Commando demo
Pros: I thought this game would be a complete failure, but it showed me otherwise. It is a very good shooter, even if you don't like Star Wars. It's a squad based game, where you can switch between members. Each member has a unique ability. The graphics are not NextGen but certainly not bad.
Cons: The AI (espacially your squad's) is not that good. When you give them orders to go anywhere they will stay there even if they are under attack by some tank...

"It's a Star Wars game, so it can't be all bad."
Cons: No gamepad control, keyboard/ mouse only. Too dark, hard to see or know what to do next.

Version: Star Wars Republic Commando demo
Pros: I've played a few Star Wars games before and those games were mildly entertaining at best. However this game is something totally different...in one word it's AWESOME!
Graphics are really good without being too much of a drain on your GPU. Gameplay is great too with a unique concept of squad combat. You don't lose a mission till your entire squad goes down. If you are the one who happens to bite the dust first, don't worry your squad members will revive you (provided they aren't dead too). Likewise you can revive downed squad members.
The sheer scale and variety of weapons is great as well, not to mention some really cool background music. The humorous dialogue between your squad mates is amusing and adds a final touch to an already superb game.
Cons: Ok I do have a few gripes. It can get really frustrating trying to revive a squad member when taking fire from all sides.
The difficulty level of this game is on the high side. I found it difficult to play even at the 'easy' setting.Plus the sheer number of commands and controls makes this one heck of a complicated game to play.
