Defeat rebel forces in a galaxy far, far away with this strategy game, which has a wide array of controls that take time to learn. The vast majority of folks will need maneuvering through the game, so looking at the help file is essential. You are sent on a mission against the rebel alliance, where you must set up a base camp and infiltrate the enemy s camp. You control the troop and vehicle movement, but combat is automated. The sound effects are wonderful, but the graphics are not as good as you would expect from LucasArts. The download file is huge, so make full use of the trial, which allows you to play just one of the 25 missions available in the full version. Despite its drawbacks, Star Wars fans and intermediate-level gamers who like third-person views should enjoy Star Wars: Force Commander.

"Flawed, but with potential"

February 17, 2008  |  By skinnywhiteboy9

Pros

It looks like it could be a lot of fun.

Cons

The controls aren't always that intuitive and it can be a little confusing at first without a tutorial, but I'm still getting the hang of it. I also had to change my resolution to a much lower setting just to get it to run.

Cons

I could never get the game to start. On occasion my screen would completely deform to to an error in the video card. If you have windos XP like i do i recomend you stay away from this game.

"Another one in the trash bin"

Summary

Looking at the game is one thing. Trying it is another. This game is horrid in most aspects, and in my opinion, requires a sequel from LucasArts that totally revamps the camera angles, gameplay and graphics. This one I never bought for good reason.

"Don't!"

August 24, 2003

 |  Version: Not Found

Summary

This took forever to download, and then wouldn't run. Locked up during installation. Then, I couldn't uninstall it! Don't do it. This program blows. (I have a decent computer system that far-exceeds the minimum system requirements listed by this game.)

"okay game"

October 21, 2002

 |  Version: Not Found

Summary

Force Commander is an Okay game. But seriously it has been outdone by many games. The other Star Wars RTS game i know of is much better. Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounps and its expansion, Clone Campighns are so much better. More realistic type graphics, better gameplay, better engine, beter everything!! I wouldn't spend more than 3 bucks on Force Commander, but i paid $40 for GBGs and $20 for its expansion and its worth it! A cheap price for a great game!! and no i dont work at LucasArts and im not getting paid for selling this game!! (-: Its just a much better than other games! except Warcraft3!!! but thats a completey differnt story!!...
