Essentially, this program gussies up the freeware Spybot Search & Destroy. SpyRemover has the same basic interface, though it's a bit more polished.
When scanning, the program didn't slow our computer, and it consumed little memory. The database encompasses not only adware and obvious dangers such as keyloggers and Trojan horses, but also indirect privacy threats such as cookies. In case deleting the detected threats leads to some programs not working properly, you can easily recover all removed items. Note that this program doesn't detect potentially embarrassing traces various applications leave behind, such as logs, history files, and a list of recently-viewed documents.
The trial version also doesn't remove the spyware and adware it finds; you have to pay for that function. If you're comfortable removing adware manually, and the interface glitches in Spybot really bother you, you might test SpyRemover.

Pros: Detected "2955 infected items" on my PC!!!
Cons: All of those were false positives. Every last one. Claims perfectly harmless files and programs are spyware...on a related note, the makers of this software obviously hate SpywareBlaster and SUPERAnti-Spyware.
