It combines the features needed every day to a manage a network in a small or medium-sized business: inventory and report on your company's hardware and software assets automatically (including patches, anti-virus updates, and licenses), monitor and troubleshoot the hardware and software on your network (look for low disk space, unwanted software, license violations), run an IT Help Desk for your company that's easy to use (let users submit tickets via e-mail and automatically have their asset information). Version: Spiceworks IT Desktop 2.1.19386
Pros: This does most things I need to manage my network of 7 servers, 70 PCs, 20 printers and a dozen or so hubs, switches, routers, etc.
It keeps at inventory of hardware and software, provides easy to use and maintain helpdesk software.
Cons: If I use a "service" account to install I then cannot use my "day to day" user account to access the on-line communities and other services.

"An amazing cost effective asset management tool"
Pros: Incredible asset management utility, it really gets a LOT of information when it inventories. It is also incredibly easy to use & figure out; on the first day I downloaded it I had reports showing out of date software, hardware deficiencies...what I wasnt sure of, the support staff was more than helpful. and the icing on this sweet cake...it's FREE! Historically I had used AIM IT, it was confusing, not user intuitive...the support was less than stellar & it was relatively expensive. This BLOWS AIM IT AWAY!
Cons: I wish it was a little faster, but this is truly small potatoes...
