SortIt for Mac

SortIt is a file utility that sorts files by Type, Creator and graphic content. This tool is useful for all MacOS users and indispensable for ad agencies, publishers, graphic production companies, prepress shops, service bureaus and printers.

This is great for analysis of supplied files, archives, or any large group of files that you need to 'get your hands around.' It is the perfect pre-processor for content management systems. This tool is also quite useful with pipe-lining or hot-folder workflows. Because you know the attributes, you can build predictable automation. With optional alias creation, files remain in their original locations until you are ready to copy or move them.

Users simply select a source and destination folder. SortIt will copy, move or alias source files, creating sub-folders in the destination folder named for their respective attributes. For example, a 72 dpi RGB Photoshop EPS will end up in a folder named, 'EPSF-8BIM-RGB-LR'. 'EPSF' is the type. '8BIM' is the Photoshop creator code. 'RGB' indicates colorspace. 'LR' indicates it is low resolution. The screen shot on our site demonstrates the result.
