This small clipboard utility has only a few advantages over the Windows Clipboard. Softricks ClipboardX docks on the right or left side of your screen and allows up to 26 clipboard entries labeled A through Z. Just place your mouse over any letter to see its contents. To copy text, press Ctrl C and the letter for the slot you want text saved to. Append the letter to Ctrl V to paste. Unlike similar clipboard utilities, Softricks ClipboardX doesn't work with images, but it does retain text formatting. Preferences offers only a few basic options for program appearance and location. Though you'll find an option for creating a unique name for clips in the preview window, it failed to work during testing. The help file was also missing in action, though the read-me file offered some information. Though anyone can use this simple program, more feature-rich clipboard managers are on the market.
