Version: Slawdog Smart Shutdown 1.4
Pros: Downloaded the "Alpha" package at the website. New version very nice and works like a charm. Includes all the shutdown features you could want, including hibernate, standby, and some network features, with the option of timing. Reasonably customizable. If hibernate is disabled on the system, the program will standby instead, definitely better than throwing an error (unless you're bent on hibernate and can't find the reason for this).
Cons: Go to the Slawdog website directly. I wouldn't recommend downloading from here. Would like a password option, but no real complaints.

Version: Slawdog Smart Shutdown 1.4
Pros: Ok here's the deal. If you're not computer-friendly, you wouldn't know how to do this alone. People THINK that this program doesn't work. The installer downloads files from the "Smart Shutdown" server, which you can tell hasn't been updated because so many people are having error messeges from trying to install it.
The thing is everything gets downloaded except for one (1) file which isnt really nesseccary, all it is is an 404 (error) page. So here is how to install the program (for MSWINDOWS XP anywayz)
1-Download program
2-Run program
3-it's gonna ask you a bunch of stuff (make sure you remember where you install the files, if you leave it at default it'll most likely be in "LOCALDISK:\Program Files\Slawdog\Smart Shutdown\"
4-a window is gonna pop up and tell you its going to connect with some internet protocol or something, just let it do it
5-click start, and let it download
6-it'll finish and get an error on the last file, (the 404 error page), click abort
7-Now go into the place that i told you to remember, which is where you installed the program
8-open the file called "Smart Shutdown.exe"
9-From there it's self-explanatory
Cons: You have to know what you're doing to get it to work.

Version: Slawdog Smart Shutdown 1.4
Pros: I read all the reviews,and some of you really don't know what you are talking about! I have WinXP ,ZoneAlarm, & MSAntiSpyware. This program works just the way I want (Hibernate my laptop at 7:15am every day before work) The other features are pretty neat too, but I don't really need all that other stuff.
It has alot of options for such a small utility. It has been flawless with WinXP, I repeat: It does not have any spyware or adware like "GATOR". This is one clean and neat program. I tried the other "SHUTOFF" program and Slawdog blows that away. I love free stuff that works like it says it does!
Cons: If you download from here you automatically get the web download. My ZoneAlarm caught it. ( I am paranoid )I prefer the full version so I went to their website and downloaded it. Another note: this is a program has a small GUI face so if you want a big honking GUI try something else or get some reading glasses.

"Worked Okay For A While & Then Bug Appeared!"
Pros: 1. Simple to configure and use
2. Works well in the specified actions such as reboot, log off etc
Cons: I had this software installed to automatically restart the server each morning. It worked well until one day noone logged into the computer. We missed the scheduled reboot time and this stupid message kept popping up. The message states that the scheduled time has passed and asks if u would like to reboot now (yes or no). When I choose no, this stupid message keeps popping up. I had to remove the program to prevent it from rebooting d server at that moment. Stupid Crap!

Cons: Refuses to install without phoning home. That just reeks of privacy issues. Don't use this software.
