It works! Easy to run, allows you to select output bitrate preferences, allows you to output a joined MP3, WAV, or a WMA.
Cons
I wish it would remember my preferences such as the bitrate and the location of where I put my last join. You have to select your bitrate from the drop-down picklist each time, then navigate to where you want your output file each time.
Summary
This is a wonderful program and it works. Follow the one-paragraph tutorial (below) and it will do the job.
Open up the program, click on the "Add" button and a Windows Explorer window will appear. Navigate to the directory that contains the files you wish to join. Select all the files (I do CNTRL-A), then hit the "Open" button at the bottom. The Explorer window will disappear and the files will show in the program. Click "Join", then "Next" (assuming you want an MP3), select your preferred bitrate (I use 64 kbps for audiobooks) then hit "Next". Click on the little diskette icon and navigate to the place where you want your join to wind up and name it, then click "Save", then click "Join". When done, hit the "clear" button before adding files for next join.
I suspect people that have had trouble are not selecting the files for the join. This
program works! I have used it on multiple PCs and laptops for years. Kudos to the
developer! -

Summary
Those who had troubles might have wanted to reboot before using. I also found that you just click the icon rather than try to fill in the blank field when presented with the request to label the file. But this is a great freeware app for joining audio files together.
