Version: ShareDirect 1.3.141
"Shares files? Yes. Instantly and Easily? No."
Pros: The initial user interface is attractive, as well as the program's web site. Registering my profile on the web site was quite easy.
Cons: First, this software requires .NET (which the author neglects to mention), so if it's not on your computer, you need to download the 20+ MB installer to get this program to work.
Second, the process involved in sharing files with friends is not straightforward. It took multiple attempts to setup my shared folder for a friend that I authorized.
Third, it was assumed that if I share a folder with friends, that everything contained in that folder is also shared. This, however, is not the case. Only FILES within a shared folder are visible... sub-folders and files contained within sub-folders must be shared individually.
Forth, the amount of authorizing you must do is ridiculous. Allow us to set user permissions immediately so it doesn't have to be done for every user and every action.
Ultimately I elected to find other software to share my files with friends.
