ScreenEdit is no match to Apple's QuickTime Pro. Nonetheless, Just like QuickTime Pro, ScreenEdit lets you edit QuickTime movies by copying, cutting, pasting and trimming frames.

An exclusive feature of ScreenEdit is Split. ScreenEdit allows users to split a movie into up to 19 segments in equal length plus another one with remaining length.

Another feature is Slide, which is adopted from ScreenSequence. Slide lets users pick one of 60 SMPTE effects to create simple slideshow movies.

What's new in this version: ScreenEdit now officially accepts multimedia containers such as AVI, DV, M4V, MP4, MPEG and WMV (with the free version of Flip4Mac QuickTime component or better) on top of MOV for the Mac version. The Windows version ScreenEdit accepts only a few multimedia containers including MOV.
