Publisher's description
From High-Logic :It's never been easier for Windows users to make their own custom fonts. Scanahand creates fonts that you can use in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Notepad, and any Windows application. You can even load your fonts on Macintosh computers. How does it work? Simply print a template, draw all of the characters using a black marker or felt-tip pen, and scan your drawing. Scanahand will build your font, and install it on Windows, ready for you to use. You don't need to use additional graphics software, but Power Users and Hobbyists alike can use Scanahand along with their favorite graphic drawing software to create or modify each character of their font. So even without a printer and scanner you'll be able to create custom fonts.

Version: Scanahand 1
"You really can make a font in five minutes."
Pros: Creating fonts is harder than many people think it is, but Scanahand makes it as easy as possible. Print the template, fill it in, scan it, and generate your font. New users will need some practice to learn how to fill in the template correctly. After a few trial runs, and with the right pen, you can get a usable font in five minutes. Cartoonists will love it.
Cons: There is no control over character spacing, so the range of designs that will work well is limited. Fonts like Comic Sans or Brush Script are no problem, but don't expect to create calligraphic fonts without extra help from FontCreator.

Version: Scanahand 1
"By far the easiest AND fastest way to make a new font!"
Pros: I can see the whole font on a single page! Print the Template and fill in each character including a signature!
Or save the Template and cut and paste characters from anywhere!
Cons: It won't weed my yard while I'm playing with it.

Version: Scanahand 1
Pros: It was easy to uninstall. If you want to see if this software works, good luck. They require $$ before you can check out even one scanned image to see how it works after conversion to a font. Might as well just send them money and hope for the best.
Cons: I tried to convert a graphic into a font. After converting it, I could not install the results as a font. An OOPS screen pops up stating they want moneybefore they allow you to see if the software works or not. No guarantee of satisfaction either.
