Publisher's Description
From Roadkil:
Recovers files from disks with physical damage. Allows you to copy files from disks with problems such as bad sectors, scratches or that just give errors when reading data. The program will attempt to recover every readable piece of a file and put the pieces together. Using this method most types of files can be made usable even if some parts were not recoverable in the end.

Summary
First of all, I run Norton Internet Security 2011 and it said this file was flagged as safe.
I meant "bytes - not kilobytes", rather than "bits - not bytes."
I have a disc with deep scratches that were not removed by resurfacing, buffing, etc. and I ended up with a few files left that couldn't be read at all. While other programs (even "data recovery") would just hang for a while and give up, this program read the file slowly, at bits - not bytes - per second and was able to recover at least some good bytes. The status display shows you exactly how many total, good, and corrupt bytes within the file were copied, the number of read errors, successful read/writes, and transfer rate. After it's done it gives you the integrity % of the file. I really like the batch mode option. For me, a file with at least some integrity is better than no file at all.
This is a good program for last resort attempts at data recovery without putting your hardware reader at risk by trying to use Brasso or toothpaste. There are creams sold specifically to fill in gaps, resurfacing machines, and other things that should be used instead. Then after you've done all you can with the physical disc - use this program.
