Publisher's description
From Conceptworld :RecentX lets superfast access to widespread documents, deep folders, cluttered programs & large Internet history & bookmarks/favorites. The best part is that it automatically tracks the items you access. You do not have to spend time adding your favorite files, folders. Also, common file operations (copy, paste) can be quickly performed without using a file manager. Avoids visiting of hierarchical folders, start menu, favorites menu, Internet history and network places. Because, hierarchy access is very time consuming, tedious and unnecessary. With RecentX, accessing of these items becomes effortless. RecentX enables direct access to files, folders, programs and Web sites without worrying about their exact location, without visiting the folders to which they belong. In many cases it avoids usage of a file manager such as Windows Explorer. Hence, saves enormous time, money and energy.

Version: RecentX 2.0
"Free on 5/6/2008 @ give away of the day."
Pros: Fast, light, professional interface. Good company that answerers support questions quickly even when they are aware that I got my copies free. Does everything it claims it does and simplifies life with my systems. I installed it on Vista Home Premium and Windows XP Pro SP-2 without a hitch. Its tiny tool bar is well placed on the task bar. Filters are there regardless of Friar Khans apparent quest for more.
Cons: Worth a purchase if you missed it today. Very nice little program. No cons from me at all. Just a note: This is one of, if not the only give away I've reviewed. The only one worth writing about so far to me after daily visits to give away of the day since December.

Version: RecentX 2.0
Pros: I tend to have many embedded files (files within folders within folders). This allows me to access the most recent ones quickly and easily. I can even drag and drop them from the RecentX window to other programs (such as email attachments). I find the program well done and very time saving
Cons: It doesn't seem to keep as up to date with urls as it does files. The very last files I open are immediately included in the "recent files" list, but not the websites I've visited.

Version: RecentX 2.0
"ingenious idea to speed up file access"
Pros: Opening a file has never been easier and faster with RecentX. Although it won't entirely replace windows explorer, I now spend much less time navigating through the folder structure which really means nothing when all I want is open a document. With a simple keyword search, RecentX helps you find what you want and is even faster than google desktop search - you find it in real time and double click to open it.
Cons: Here are some glitches I found.
1. Does not support another language. The keyword search box only allows typing in English - for e.g. Korean didn't work.
2. Drag and drop attachment doesn't work with gmail - In the demo on their website, this feature worked with Outlook, but I use gmail and it doesn't seem to support gmail as far as i can see.
3. Resource - takes about 15% of CPU on my computer - somewhat heavy for a utility program
Generally I'm satisfied w/ this product, but hope multilingual support is included in the next version.
