"Works great on my XP Win-Vista Defender kills it."
Version: RealPlayer SP 10
Pros
When it works, it lets me download from YouTube, and stores all the oldies, so I can sit and groove like it did in the 40s-50s-60s ad-infinitum
Cons
No solution to problem available from Windows
Summary
If Vista kills it, Windows 7 could be the end of downloading the program.

"It snags an adv instd of the clip I'm trying to dnload"
Version: RealPlayer SP 10
Pros
I like the playlist-- all my videos/audios for the day play one after the other, no freeze ups no buffering snags...
Cons
It has started to dnload only the preview advertisement and not take the video clip I'm trying to get-- an MSNBC tech told me it was Flash Player , but uninstall/reinstall didn't fix it...
Summary
I wish I could get someone at Real Player to hear me-- no support for the *free* version, and I can't sort out the forums at random geek sites.

"My lap top will no longer play DVD's"
Version: RealPlayer SP 10
Pros
I am not happy with this product.
Cons
I was never able to use this produce because it uninstalled my DVD played.
Summary
I had 2 separate issues with this site. I never got my money back from the first time. The bank said the money was not returned. The second time They installed the SP I could not get it to work properly. The site asked if they could control my computer to properly program it. I allowed them access while I watched. After 2 1/2 hrs later the guy said he could not fix it. Now I can not even just watch a movie. I was able to before. The tech is saying that it is my computer and not them.. I can not see how it is my computer when I was just watching a movie before he worked on it. You decide.

"Real Media Stinks"
Version: RealPlayer SP 10
Pros
I really cannot see ANY "Pros">
Cons
Not compatible with much. Likes to take over your machine. I'm surprised they are still around! Open your wallet if you have to deal with them. Stay away from their programs.
Summary
I would never use their software for ANY multimedia project.

"you will never need it."
Version: RealPlayer SP 10
Pros
It plays and downloads FLV files, can download from Youtube
Cons
explorer.exe errors from FLV files, firewall config changed viruses. other crap
Summary
I think every real player from 10 to SP... is quite the same actually, because. all of them ask you to but the Premium version, and i haven't accepted any of them.
plus, the uninstall is uncomplete.
The user interface is ... average.
the realplayer downloader is a pain in the ass. Why because you download them, you get a .swf first, you realise you can't play, and realise you need certain codecs.
download FLV files and the crap begins. Explorer.exe got so much errors i managed to copy and convert the file after 20 times of closing explorer.exe
They give you virus links, real message center is more like spam than anything else, they give you a so called PC booster or something like that, it says "download free" and if you click the link, if you wanna dl it, you must pay.
the firewall config was suddenly changed, all the media extensions were set to play with real player, and most of all you cab't get support.
So stay away from this ****...

Pros

Cons
occassionally tries to connect to the internet, which i had configured to stop, but it doesn't stop, had to remove that entry from the registr
Summary
I do like the fact that Microsoft does have some competition in the online media world, but I don't like the software needed to view/hear that media.
RealPlayer is clunky, slow, ugly, and doesn't fit in with the rest of Windows software,
It insists upon "registration" for every user on your computer (including the administrator, which makes absolutely no sense).
The default interface is annoying and is something I turn off immediately. It takes you to real.com and throws videos at you.
The default setting also put RealPlayer in your system tray and pre-selects "alerts" for you. It's annoying and just one more program to clutter your system tray. I disable right after installation (they don't make that easy, either).
And of course you're nagged to purchase the "Pro" edition.
If you don't pay attention, you get other junk installed too (namely a stupid "Try AOL" icon on your desktop and start menu).
Nope, if it weren't for the fact that I want to view RealAudio/Video files on occasion, I'd not even bother installing this sorry excuse for software.
It's really too bad, because RealPlayer for Linux is much nicer and I really like the idea of truly cross-platform media format, but the Windows version of RealPlayer stinks, period.
