"It's ok, but If you do ever have a problem, FORGET IT!"
Version: ReGet Deluxe 5.2.0.330
Pros
It works well to download large files. If it gets stopped it picks it right back up where you left off, and it can download many files at once.
Cons
It is supposed to work with FlashGot which allows easier selection of files and so forth in Firefox's right click menu. BUT the fact is it does not work well with FlashGot.
Summary
The bottom line is this does work well in manual mode without FlashGot's added functionality. But if you want it to work well with Flashgot, forget it.
What is WORSE is that ReGET HAS THE WORST TECHNICAL SUPPORT I'VE EVER SEEN, AND THAT'S WITH THE PAY VERSION NOT JUST THE FREE VERSION. I CANNOT GET THEM TO ANSWER MY QUESTIONS AFTER 4 EMAILS OVER A PERIOD OF 6 WEEKS. NOW I AM GIVING UP AND GOING FOR A NEW DOWNLOAD MANAGER. EFF REGET! THEY DO NOT SUPPORT THEIR PAYING CUSTOMERS!!! -
"Good DL Manager, but with a few Reservations"
Version: ReGet Deluxe 5.2.0.330
Pros
Using Road Runner here in NYC, the downloads are comparable to other download managers, but more compatible with the sites that I visit. Speeds are always very high and it is pretty configurable compared to many DL managers. Compatible with FF 3.0.X
Cons
The site you visit can control the number of downloads being used at one time. It isn't compatible with Google Chrome or Safari. Patches take a long time to get.
Summary
I like ReGet, but wish it had compatibility with the more web browsers especially the newer ones. I like the ability to download, set and forget it and when it's done, it shuts down the computer. I like having a program that is transparent and can be used within Firefox, as opposed to an earlier DownLoad Manager, which I had to cut and paste download to after it "updated" and changed it's functionality without telling me ahead of time (and you know who you are). Then when it came out with a Vista version (which I didn't need) they stopped support for the Windows version and tried to sell me the newer, much more expensive version. ReGet is affordable, and easy to use. Would like to be able to configure downloads and how they parse on the fly rather than have ReGet do it for me.
